Wakamow Valley Authority searches for a new park name

Wakamow Valley Authority is inviting suggestions from members of the public for a new park name. Margaret Moran, CEO explains: “The construction of the new suspension bridge has connected two large areas of the valley – the area to the south of 4th Avenue SW and the area to the west of Highway 2. Since the opening of the suspension bridge, we have seen significantly more people in this area enjoying the trails. “As our other park areas such as Connor Park are identified by a name, we feel this newly opened-up area should also be named and we would like to hear some ideas from the residents of Moose Jaw. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of Moose Jaw’s river heritage.” Staff at Wakamow Valley have put forward two suggestions – ‘Skipton Park’ and ‘The Meadows’ – but encourage people to leave their own suggestions on their Facebook page, through Twitter @WakamowMJ or by email to wakamow.events@sasktel.net. The final decision will be made by the Wakamow Valley Authority Board of Directors on December 15. Wakamow Valley also offer a Park Adoption Program which involves naming a park area in honour of a major donor. For further information, please contact Margaret Moran – 306-692-2717 / wakamow...
