The Wakamow Dream

Spring TrailThe Wakamow dream is as varied as the people who envision it. This is substantial, given that as many as 150 volunteers will give their time and efforts to the valley on any given year. Hundreds more have seen fit to support Wakamow with their time and/or money over its 30 year history.

The Wakamow dream generally involves education, development or conservation or, more likely, some working combination of the two. However, regardless of the individual perception, the Wakamow dream ultimately involves the peaceful co-existence of humanity and nature.

We at Wakamow are also beginning to realize that Wakamow Valley is no different than most institutions in that what is old is new. As such, the Wakamow dream inevitably reverts back to the aboriginal beliefs and feelings which have been attributed to the valley for centuries. Wakamow Valley has been and shall continue to be, a place of tranquillity, a place of peace, a place for sharing and a place for recreating ourselves while rejuvenating the links between all forms of life.
