Wakamow Valley Authority is excited to be participating, once again, in the provincial campaign, June is Recreation and Parks Month. The initiative, developed by the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association (SPRA), is designed to get people involved in fun, outdoor activities, celebrate the return of summer and gain local support for parks and recreation.
Every Tuesday evening throughout June, a new activity will be held at different locations in Wakamow Valley. All activities are free and take place between 6:30 and 7:30 pm. The activities are intended to appeal to a range of interests, abilities and ages and offer the chance to try something new.
Ailsa McKeen, Wakamow Valley’s Event Coordinator comments: “We always look forward to the return of warmer weather and seeing more people in the park. Leisure facilities and parks such as Wakamow Valley are incredibly important to the quality of life for people in Moose Jaw. Through taking part in this campaign, we hope to promote the physical, social and personal benefits of outdoor activities and provide the opportunity for people to try something new for free.”
